Eligibility
PatentKit is intended for inventors, founders, and small businesses exploring patent protection for their own inventions. You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to use the service.
Not legal advice
PatentKit's AI-generated analysis and drafts are informational tools, not legal advice.
Freedom-to-operate reports, novelty assessments, patentability evaluations, and drafted claims produced by PatentKit are generated by language models and should not be relied upon for filing decisions. You must consult a registered patent attorney or patent agent before filing any application with the USPTO or another patent office. PatentKit is not a law firm and does not provide an attorney-client relationship.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the inventions, disclosures, and content you submit to PatentKit. By using the service, you grant PatentKit a limited license to process your content for the sole purpose of providing the analysis you requested. This license terminates when you delete your account.
Acceptable use
- Do not submit inventions you do not have the right to disclose.
- Do not use the service to infringe on others' intellectual property.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the platform.
- Do not upload malicious files or attempt to compromise account security.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. PatentKit is not liable for decisions made based on its analysis output, including but not limited to filing decisions, infringement determinations, or prior art assessments. You bear full responsibility for verifying any analysis with qualified legal counsel before acting on it.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of PatentKit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
